Of course there always some exceptions to the rules that need to be weighed. Like does potential buddy have access to lots of private water? Does said buddy own a jet boat? Its not a perfect world.

A great fishing buddy will also go out of his way to offer up his fly box even if the only fly they are hitting happens to be his last one. He will also take the time to set down his rod if need be to capture your hero shot.

Dude that’s game to check out new and obscure water fully knowing that it prolly won’t pay off. Also knows that anything short of catastrophe is just how it goes; won’t get sandy if the fish ain’t biting or ships a little water in his waders.
